Reverberation means something that ripples out and has a deep and continuing effect.

Come join us in singing simple, beautiful songs in playful harmony, round and layers.
No musical experience is needed, no sheet music, no performances, no pressure. Just come add your voice to ours and have fun!

Our songs are
• carefully chosen for their depth, meaning and lovely harmonies
• led with skill and heart by Kazimea Sokil, creative arts therapist
• Drawn from songwriters and Community Song Circles worldwide
• sifted and sorted to resonate with our local bioregion, seasonal and cultural themes
• reflect themes of joy and connection to nature and community.

Come learn songs will reverberate through your days, bringing happiness, peace and a sense of connection with others and with the world around you. Whether you seek lyrics and melodies that offer hope and wisdom, or just want to sing for the delight of it, we welcome you!

How do I join?
You can attend any Reverberation session, it is a drop-in format. There is no charge to subscribe to the email list – just email kazimesokil@gmail.com. The mailing list gives you reminders about upcoming song circles and lyrics and audio file links in the days leading up to a session. I do appreciate you letting me know you plan to come (by email, text or FB msg), so we set out the right number of chairs.

What does it cost?
Suggested minimum $10 donation per person for each circle, shared between leader Kazimea and host Creekside Commons. Is this too much for your budget? Please come as my guest.

Who can attend?
There is no requirement in terms of singing experience, and no need to read music or lyrics.
Because of the focus and themes, Reverberation is suitable for ages 16+
2SLGBTQIA+ are welcomed! Elders and youth are welcomed!
Creekside Commons is an accessible site. If you cannot travel there due to poor public transit connections, contact me in advance and we can try to set up a carpool.

This month’s theme is Darkness, Stillness, and Light. I’m feeling a gentler, calmer energy than last month. Our second-Thursday timing doesn’t align well with Solstice, so we are singing about shift and turning in December and we will sing about new beginnings and inspiration in January. This poem is drawn from lyrics to December’s song list:

Slow it all down, let it blow through
Only in dark, the light
The path we’re on, we cannot know what it’s bringing
Be still, and wait, it will all become clear
There is always a light, when we are ready to see it
No one can hold back the dawn
I feel the warmth of it, in my heart and in my soul.
